Known as the “Peace Garden State,” North Dakota is home to the geographical center of North America. Its LE challenges are fairly straight-forward.

Recording and Transfer Fees🔗

Recording fees are uniform throughout the state. They are assessed in the form of flat fees organized by tier based upon the number of pages in the document. For documents of one to six pages, a flat amount is assessed. If the document is six to 25 pages, the fee more than doubles. Any documents over 25 pages are assessed additional amounts per page (after the first 25).

There are no transfer or mortgage recordation taxes in North Dakota.
